These are great athletic shoelaces for people who hate having their shoe laces come undone while they're walking or running. They're also great for lazy people (like me) who find it much easier to just slip the shoe on and off rather than having to tie and untie laces. That said, if you have custom shoe lace tying schemes as some runners and walkers do, these would not work for you. It's also more difficult to place custom orthodics because the elastic nature of the laces is what makes the fit possible so my mid-foot cushion slips a bit occasionally but I don't mind, I just reposition it and go on. The laces also come in a variety of colors so you can pick what matches your shoes and/or appeals to your fashion sense. There is a bit of a learning curve in initially installing the laces (they can be tricky to get through the shoelace holes and you want to make sure you cut the laces at the best length for you when you're finished (I initially left the laces too long and they flopped about a bit but I just removed the end seal and recut them). Bottom line: I think these laces are great and put them on all my running/walking shoes.
