I was very worried about spending this kind of money without being able to try them on first. I am 5'7" 157 pounds... all legs (I normally buy longs in my jeans). My thighs are 22' and I went with the XL. I was going between the L and LX and after reading some reviews and considering the length of my legs I went with the XL. They fit well but I wish I would have went with the L (would never have liked medium as the size chart said the hips would not have been comfortable and I have an athletic build with no real hips but leather is heavy). They are not as tight as I would like them to be even with my jeans on under them and I have them laced as tight as they go... I can fit my hand down them still. Although I do have the length I needed so I cannot complain about that part I would rather have the length and a bit big than have the perfect fit and too short. They are heavy and warm. They are buttery soft, the zipper is very heavy duty as are the snaps. They are well made and the pockets on each side go to my knees so very deep... Overall I am very happy with my purchase.... hope my review helps someone because I was confused reading some of them.
